Jack, the quality of your articles is getting better and better. I'm moving back to the United States soon, and I need someone to help me wade through the mountain of BS products to find the stuff that won't, you know, eventually give me cancer. Looking forward to future articles. Was crazy to find out Burt's bees started out great, but eventually got corrupted.
Hey Tim, epic comment man. Your quite a figure in this space now so thank you for your insight. Your right, ultra processed is suspect from the start. Lot more to consider. Thank you!!
I try to eat a variety of food, so vegetables, salads, beans, pulses, nuts, seeds etc… No fruit as I’m diabetic. A diet high in fibre, low in saturated fat is what I aim for.
I always make sure I’m well hydrated, I drink 3 litres of water a day.
I meditate twice a day and I exercise daily (mainly walking and load bearing/free weights exercises) all of which I’ve been doing for 20+ years now.
Oh and I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 18 and then a vegan for the last 8 years. But that’s as much to do with ethics/morals/values as it does the health benefits.
Holy shit, this was interesting. And kind of makes me angry. I had no idea about Burts Bees and I use their products regularly, thinking I was supporting something great. Ugh, the whole "big corp" things really makes me mad.
It's so hard to find a brand that doesn't choose more money over more impact. I think most people start out doing it for the positive impact, but dollars speak very loudly...
Ohhh Siete... I have some of their product in my cupboard right now. I wish I could grow everything and make all my meals from scratch! Next best thing is to know what you are consuming and eat whole/unprocessed foods as much as possible.

Yes my dude. Thank you for this. Let me find you and Kristi some Chapstick haha
Same here Tom. I love Burts Bees for what I thought they stood for. 😐
It comes down to the same problem as always: Ultra-processed food of any kind is suspect. This includes wheat-free bread.
Unfortunately, seeing something "gluten free" doesn't mean it isn't just junk food of a different kind.

Thank you for this info!
Tara thank you for the great vibes always!!!
How can you tell if it’s healthy? Easy, if it’s been ultra processed it’s not, ever!
Whole foods only, preferably organic. Cook everything from scratch. That’s the only way to eat healthy food.
Lou its so simple it hurts sometimes. Thanks for the comment. What other health practices do you follow?

And that’s about it really 🙂

Thanks for sharing this Jack. A real eye-opener!
Thank you for this comment Kristi. We will find some alternative products for the store:)))
Yes cat! Advocate for us.
Ayyyyyy the cat attack!!
At this point I’m beginning not to trust anything I don’t make myself and even then it’s difficult to source the best raw materials

Very enlightening. Very concerning.
